I am an Usui trained reiki master which means I can offer reiki healing to humans and animals alike.
What is Reiki?
At its core, Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, non-invasive healing modality built on a fundamental law of nature: everything in the universe is made of energy, and every single thing vibrates at its own unique frequency. From the dense physical matter of our bones to the subtle waves of our thoughts and emotions, we are entirely composed of moving energy.
The word itself comes from two Japanese concepts that reflect this universal truth:
- Rei: Translates to “Universal,” “Spiritual,” or “Sacred”—the higher intelligence and divine wisdom that connects everything in the universe.
- Ki: Translates to “Life Force Energy”—the vital, unseen frequency flowing through all living things (the same concept as Chi or Qi in Chinese tradition).
When put together, Reiki literally means “Universal Life Force Energy.” After undergoing a sacred attunement process, a Reiki practitioner is able to act as a conduit for this collective frequency. They do not use their own personal energy; instead, they channel the universal life force through their hands and directly into a recipient. By transferring these harmonious frequencies, the Reiki helps restore balance, dissolve energetic blockages, and stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal itself on both a physical and emotional level.
The Energy Map: The Seven Chakras
Reiki focuses on the body’s chakra system to clear away stagnant energy and get energy flowing again. As each of these energy centres directly corresponds to specific physical organs and distinct emotional states, any stagnation or drop in a chakra’s frequency can manifest as physical illness or emotional distress.
| Chakra | Centre For… | Physical Connection |
| 1. Root (Base of spine) | Survival, stability, grounding, and safety | Legs, feet, bones, large intestine |
| 2. Sacral (Below navel) | Creativity, sexuality, emotions, and adaptability | Reproductive organs, kidneys, bladder |
| 3. Solar Plexus (Upper abdomen) | Personal power, confidence, and willpower | Stomach, liver, digestive system |
| 4. Heart (Centre of chest) | Love, compassion, forgiveness, and peace | Heart, lungs, circulatory system |
| 5. Throat (Throat) | Communication, self-expression, and truth | Throat, thyroid, neck, jaw |
| 6. Third Eye (Between brows) | Intuition, imagination, and wisdom | Eyes, brain, pituitary gland |
| 7. Crown (Top of head) | Spiritual connection and higher consciousness | Central nervous system, pineal gland |
During a session, the practitioner channels universal energy into these specific zones to clear away dense, heavy blockages and realign the body’s natural vibrations. When the chakras are brought back into harmony, your life force flows freely once again. This shift directly supports the corresponding physical organs and releases stored emotional tension.
The most beautiful thing about Reiki is its intuitive intelligence: the healing frequency naturally directs itself to wherever it is needed most, and it continues to work long after the session has ended.
There are many benefits of Reiki, and these can include:
- Grounding and balancing
- Encouraging healing
- Promoting relaxation
- Relieving stress and anxiety
- Energising the mind and the body
- Assisting with pain management
However, it is important to note that Reiki treatment is not a substitute for traditional medical or
psychological diagnosis and treatment but can be used to complement and enhance conventional
medicine or surgery.
I offer reiki sessions for £30 for 30 minutes, £45 for 60 minutes or £60 for 90 minutes.
