Athena Forest School

Forest school is an outdoor, nature-based learning opportunity that focuses on the holistic
development of the participant. It provides an opportunity to develop skills and build confidence and
self-esteem through hands-on activities. It is an educational process that involves outdoor play and
learning through discovery, experimentation and interaction with nature. The participants can
develop their interests and skills in a free and safe environment. Sadly, most people only associate
Forest School as an activity for preschool-aged children when it simply isn’t the case; it is proven to
help improve mental, emotional and physical well-being and reduce stress, anxiety and depression in
participants of all ages.

At Athena Forest Fun we run stay-and-play Forest School sessions for parents and preschool
children. We provide a unique activity that combines outdoor exploration, hands-on learning, and
the wonders of nature. We offer an immersive experience where children can unleash their
curiosity, develop essential skills, and connect with the natural world around them.

Unleash Creativity and Imagination: Children have the freedom to explore, create, and let their
imaginations soar. They can build forts and dens, engage in imaginative play, and discover the magic
of the forest.

Hands-On Learning: We believe that the best way to learn is by doing. Children are encouraged with
hands-on experiences, allowing children to develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and
practical knowledge. Our club offers a diverse range of engaging activities. These range from
identifying plants and animals to building shelters and habitats, various types of craft work, including
working with natural materials, various teamwork games, learning and using knots and much more!
Connection with Nature: By spending time outdoors, children will have the chance to develop a
a deeper appreciation for their environment.

They’ll have a chance to interact with insects, plants, fruits and vegetables and even go about
planting their own. They will experience the sights and sounds of nature and begin to learn about
birds and other creatures, learning their names and what they look and sound like.

Holistic Development: The Forest Fun Club nurtures children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and
social development. They’ll improve their coordination, stamina, and motor skills through active
play. They’ll sharpen their observation skills, problem-solving abilities, and scientific thinking through
nature exploration. They’ll also develop resilience, teamwork, and communication skills through
collaborative activities with their peers.
